Rennes International Mobility Centre

Centre de Mobilité Internationale de Rennes (CMI Rennes)

The CMI Rennes provides services for international students, PhD students, and researchers who are participating in international mobility programmes on the Rennes site.

It is attached to the UEB, and is part of the European EURAXESS Services network of over 200 centres in 35 countries, the aim of which is to assist the European mobility of researchers. The CMI Rennes receives local-authority funding from Rennes Métropole.

Objectives

  • To enhance the welcome of incoming mobility students
  • To contribute to the development of the mobility of Rennes students

Main activities

  • Welcoming of international students at the start of the academic year
    The organisation of the welcoming on arrival of exchange students, the provision of information and reception desks, assistance with applying for a residence permit, and the organisation of welcome days in partnership with TAM-TAM as well as of a cultural programme and excursions in Brittany.

  • Personal welcoming of international PhD students and researchers
    Welcoming of PhD students at the station, help with dealing with the administrative and legal procedures involved in living and studying in France, and language and cultural support during their time in Rennes.

  • Preparation of Rennes students for international mobility
    Awareness-raising and information activities on the subject of international mobility, language and culture preparation courses, intercultural meetings, and international weeks.
